Our Christmas Wrapping Paper designs

We used Mocrosoft Paint to design our own Christmas Wrapping Paper. We learned how to copy and paste images that we have created - to form a pattern. Here are a few examples.

Term 4 student contracts

In term 4 our class had 'Let's Celebrate' as our school-wide topic. We each had a contract with activities to complete. We made tourist brochures using Microsoft Publisher.

Strength of structures - tower building

We were learning about the strength of towers. We were given newspapers, string and tape. We learnt that the higher the tower...the wider the base would have to be to keep the tower stable. The tower had to be able to stand by itself. It was cool, because we got to work in small groups and 'design' and build our own towers.

Temperature change experiment

Mr. L put four cups with boiling water in each of the four houses at 9.25 am...the water temperature was 67 degrees Celcius at the time. We then measured the temperatures again at 1.30pm. Rosies house was the winner, because the temperature of the water in her house was the highest at 25.5 degrees celsius. She also had a small shoe box for a house, which proves Kyla's prediction that a smaller house will hold the heat fromm the water better.

Insulation and Heating

We've been learning about different types of insulation and heating. To show our understanding of these topics we built some houses. We also did an experiment to see which house keeps the temperature of water inside a cup the warmest over a period of time

Small groups working

We love working in small groups in room 6. It gives us the chance to learn from our friends, and work together to complete the task given by Mr. L.

Swimming

After morning tea we go swimming.We start off by doing 6-9 lengths of different strokes then we get into teams of 3 or 4 and we do relay races.Then sometimes we get 5 minutes of free play.
